Biography
Stefano Anastasi was born and grew up in the canton of Ticino. After attending Collegio Papio in Ascona, he began his medical studies at the University of Basel, which he completed with the state examination in 2003. After a year of internal medicine at the District Hospital Frutigen, he continued his training at the eye clinics of the Cantonal Hospital St. Gallen and the University Hospital Zurich, where he also received his doctorate. In spring 2009 he received the title of specialist in ophthalmology/FEBO. For surgical training, he completed a fellowship for cataract surgery at the Laxmi Eye Institute in Panvel, India, in summer 2009. Since September 2009 Dr. Anastasi has been working with the Bern Eye Clinic team at the Lindenhof Hospital, where he completed his further surgical training. In 2012 he obtained the FMH title for ophthalmic surgery with focus on cataract and eyelid surgery. Since 2017 he is also responsible for glaucoma surgery.
