BIOGRAPHY

Philippe Schiessl grew up in Bern and Burgdorf. He studied medicine at the University of Bern and obtained his doctorate. After one year in the interdisciplinary emergency unit in Meyriez and nine months in the anesthesiology unit in Solothurn, he began his training as a specialist in ophthalmology at the eye clinic of the Cantonal Hospital in Lucerne under the direction of Prof. Dr. Dr. med. Michael Thiel. He continued his training at the Inselspital Bern and at the Augencentrum Zytglogge. He passed the specialist examination in 2021. Since June 2021, Dr. Schiessl has been part of the team at the Bern Eye Clinic.
