We have a wide range of outpatient and short-stay surgical procedures. Emergencies, such as retinal detachments, can be treated within a very short period of time and, when medically necessary, around the clock.

Here is an overview of our range of diagnostic and therapy services:

  • Clinical diagnostics (slit lamp, biomicroscopy)
  • Refractometry (measurement of visual acuity and correction with glasses)
  • Dynamic and static (computer) perimetry (Goldmann and Octopus visual field)
  • Microperimetry (functional diagnostics of the centre of the retina (macula) and analysis of fixation behaviour)
  • Tonometry (non-contact and contact, dynamic contour tonometry)
  • Corneal topography and pachymetry (ultrasound and Scheimpflug imaging)
  • Biometrics (laser interference and ultrasound)
  • Ocular and orbital ultrasound tissue diagnostics (A- and B-scans)
  • OCT analysis of the anterior and posterior eye segments (optical coherence tomography)
  • Anterior segment and fundus photography (slit-lamp photography, wide-angle photography (retina map), multicolour and autofluorescence photography)
  • Fluorescein and infracyanine green angiography (conventional and laser-scanning techniques) and wide-angle angiography
  • Uveitis diagnostics, including aqueous humour and vitreous diagnostics
• Therapy
  • Laser treatment of the retina (argon laser and micropulse-pattern diode laser)
  • Laser treatment for after-cataracts and acute glaucoma (YAG laser)
  • Laser trabeculoplasty to reduce intraocular pressure
  • Laser treatment for secondary glaucoma and tumours (infrared laser for cyclophotocoagulation and transpupillary thermotherapy)
  • Photodynamic therapy (for certain diseases of the centre of the retina)
  • Dry eyes
  • Photobiomodulation
  • Eyelid surgery: upper eyelid lift (covered by health insurance or self-pay), eyelid malpositions, and eyelid tumors
  • Pterygium surgery (wing-shaped conjunctival growth removal)
  • Intravitreal therapies (especially for diseases of the centre of the retina and uveitis)
  • Cataract operations (foldable intraocular lens implants, including those with blue light filters, toric lenses), add-on lenses
  • Anterior segment reconstruction after trauma including iris reconstruction
  • Surgery of the vitreous body and of the macula
  • Retinal-detachment and retinal-detachment revision surgery (plombage, cerclage & vitrectomy)
  • Surgery of vascular retinal diseases (diabetes, venous thrombosis etc.)
  • Revision surgery
    • After complicated cataract surgery
    • In cases of luxated intraocular lenses
    • IOL exchange with retropupillary fixed artisan artificial lenses
    • Suture fixation of existing IOLs

What we do not offer:

• Laser therapy to treat defective vision
• Certain specialized surgical procedures (e.g. strabismus operations, corneal transplants etc.)
• Therapy of keratoconus
• Emergencies in children
• Myopia prophylaxis
